How to youtube video upload settings | beginners guide | step by step

On a Computer, Using Youtube.com

1. In a web browser, go to https://www.youtube.com. Directly from the YouTube website, you can upload a video.
If you haven’t already done so, sign in to your YouTube account by clicking SIGN IN in the top-right corner of the page. Select your YouTube account and enter your password, or click Use another account and sign in with your YouTube account’s email address and password.

2.Click the addition (+) sign next to the camera icon and then Upload Video. It’s next to your profile photograph in the upper-right corner. This will lead you to the YouTube Studio page, which will have a “Upload Video” window in the centre.

3.Drag your video file to the window’s arrow. Alternatively, you can select a file on your computer by clicking the blue SELECT FILE button, then clicking Open. Either of these alternatives will start the video preparation process.
By default, you can submit videos up to 15 minutes long. You must first validate your account before uploading lengthier videos (up to 12 hours).

You must first save a video DVD to your computer before uploading it to YouTube.
MOV, MPEG4, MPEG4, AVI, WMV, MPEGPS, FLV, 3GPP, WebM, DNxHR, ProRes, CineForm, HEVC are all supported video formats on YouTube (h265).

4.Add a title and description to the video. The title must be included, and the description is optional but highly suggested. The title can be as long as 100 characters. Make a catchy title that appropriately depicts the video in this space. Add a description for the video in the huge box labelled “Description.” While watching your video, information from the description will appear below it. This area can be used to include more information about the video, the creator, or other projects. To make your video appear in relevant searches, provide keywords in this section.

5.To utilise a thumbnail, simply click it. The thumbnail for a video is a still image that appears on your channel and in search results. To use one of the suggested thumbnails as a thumbnail, simply click it.
Alternatively, you can select your own image to use as a thumbnail by clicking Upload Thumbnail. Open the image you want to use by clicking on it.
You have complete control over your thumbnail and can modify or edit it at any time.

6.Make a playlist with the video (optional). If you wish to add your video to a playlist, go to the “Playlist” drop-down menu and choose a playlist you’ve already built. You have the option of selecting multiple playlists.

7.Choose if the film is intended for children or not. Any videos prepared for children under the age of 13 must now be marked as such on YouTube. If your film is intended for children, select “Yes, it’s intended for children” from the drop-down menu. If your film isn’t intended for children, select “No, it’s not intended for children” from the drop-down menu.

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act requires you to properly label your video if it is intended for children (COPPA). Improperly marking your video could result in YouTube taking action against your account or the FTC fining you. For more information, see YouTube’s How to Comply with COPPA.

You can also establish an age limit for your video if it is specifically created for users above the age of 18. To do so, select Age Restriction from the drop-down menu (advanced). Then select “Yes, restrict my video to viewers above the age of 18” from the drop-down menu.

8. Click Next after selecting More Options (optional). The blue writing at the bottom of the “Details” window says “More Options.” This brings up a list of additional features you can include in your video. Click Next in the lower-right corner when you’re finished. The following are some other options:

Check the box that says “My video contains sponsored promotion such a product placement or endorsement” if your video has paid promotions. You may also select “Add a message to my video to advise viewers of paid marketing” from the drop-down menu.

Tags are terms that allow other people to easily find your videos. In the “Add Tags” box, type the tags you want to use. Use words that are related to your video (e.g., if your video is of Dancing Elephants, use “elephants,” “dancing,” and “funny”). In the “Recommended” tab, videos with related tags will frequently show together.

Language, Subtitles, and Closed Captions: To choose a language for your video, select it from the “Video language” drop-down option. Select a closed caption certification from the “Caption certification” drop-down menu to add closed captions or subtitles to your video. Click the blue box that says Upload Subtitles/CC and pick if your subtitles include timing to upload closed captions or subtitles. Then click Open after selecting the subtitle file. For additional information on how to create subtitles, post them to YouTube, and embed them in videos, see How to Embed Subtitles in Videos.

Click Recording date to indicate when the video was created in the pop-up calendar to add a recording date. Click Video location and provide the address or name of the location where the video was shot to add a location to the video. From the search results, choose a place.

Select a copyright licence for the recording by clicking License. Allow others to embed your video in other places and websites by checking “Allow Embedding.” If you wish to let your subscribers know about the video, select “Publish to subscriptions feed and inform subscribers.”

Select a category for your video by clicking Category and then selecting one. There may be more boxes to fill out in some categories.

Ratings and comments: Select how you want the comments to be managed from the “Comments visibility” drop-down menu. All comments can be allowed, possibly unsuitable comments can be held for review, all comments can be held for review, or all comments can be disabled. Use the “Sort By” drop-down menu to choose whether the comments should be sorted by top-rated or newest. If you want to see how many people like and dislike this video, check the box “Show how many people like and dislike this video.”

9. Click Next after adding an End Screen or cards to your film (if desired). An end screen appears at the conclusion of a video to promote related content on your channel. You can use cards to promote your content during the video. On the video elements page, click Add to the right of “Add an End Screen” or “Add Cards” to add an end screen or cards to your film. To add an end screen, follow the instructions.
This stage can only be completed after the standard definition portion of your video has been processed.

10. Decide on a level of visibility. You have three visibility options to choose from. Select your preferred choice by selecting the radio button next to it.The following are the visibility options:

This option makes your video publicly searchable and visible on YouTube by anyone.
Unlisted: Although the video is not publicly available, anyone who has the video link can still watch it.
When you’re signed in to your account, you can only see the video if it’s set to private.

11. Set a date for becoming public (optional). You can set a time for the video to go public if you don’t want it to go public straight away. Click the radio button next to “Schedule” to set a time. Then, using the date drop-down option, choose the date you want it to go public. Then select the time you want it to go public from the drop-down box with the time.

12. To save or schedule something, click the blue Save or Schedule button. It’s at the window’s bottom-right corner. This will upload the video to your YouTube channel at the specified time and date, or once it has completed processing.

Go to https://studio.youtube.com/ and click Videos in the left-hand side panel to alter the title and description at any time. Hover your mouse over the video on this page, then click the three-dot icon, then Edit title and description.
On this page, you may modify the video’s visibility level by clicking the current level (e.g., Private) and selecting a different choice.
You can embed your video on your website or share it online once it’s been submitted.
